Osman’s educational background includes his BA and MA at Ataturk University, Turkey
and then after working as a teacher for 6 years went on to do and MEd and PhD at the
University of Glasgow in children’s literature and literacies at the University of
Glasgow. He recently completed PGDE in Primary at Strathclyde University.
He worked for several educational institutions in various positions such as ESOL
teacher, a vice-principal, student advisor, graduate teaching assistant, research
assistant, freelance interpreter and translator. He has also managed several
projects funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and The Next Step Initiative.
He currently works at the University of Glasgow as an Associate Tutor.
Osman has presented many papers both nationally and internationally as well as
having a number of academic publications in the field of children’s literature and
book reviews in academic journals.
Finally, Osman has three daughters and enjoy reading, playing, chatting and messing
around with them. His favourite book is The White Ship by Kyrgyz author Cengiz
